My Story
​Brandon Fountain is a seasoned nonprofit professional with over 15 years of diverse experience, including expertise in communications, fundraising, advocacy, community education, and grassroots organizing. Originally from Aiken, South Carolina, Brandon's path took a significant turn towards social justice after an impactful experience in Birmingham, Alabama. Confronted with the stark realities of racial violence and discrimination, he embarked on a journey dedicated to movement building and policy advocacy, with a personal focus on ending the death penalty. In 2011, Brandon joined Project Hope to Abolish the Death Penalty in Alabama, where he played a key role in communications, organizing, and advocacy work; now based in Lexington, South Carolina, he continues to support PHADP from afar. Brandon is deeply committed to advocating for alternatives to the death penalty, and he is dedicated to contributing his skills and passion to working towards ending the costly, inhumane, and ineffective practice of capital punishment in his home state.
